Content Types

Content available from IndiaPicture is generally of two kinds: Rights Managed and Royalty-Free.
Rights Managed content is licensed for specific predefined usages. The usage fees are based on the usage requested.
Royalty-Free content is licensed for non-exclusive use of an image or CD for a one-time flat fee.

Login

Customer Login

To log in, you must be a registered IndiaPicture member. Follow these steps to access options available to members.
1. Click Login.
2. Type your email ID in the Email ID field.
3. Type your password in the Password field.
4. Click Login.

To save time on your next visit, do not log out. Our system will remember your computer when you return. You'll be able to search, save, and price images, even download comps, without having to log in again.

Forgot Password

Please follow the steps below to retrieve your username and password.
1. Click Login.
2. Click Forgot Password?
3. Type your email address in the Email field.
4. Click Continue.
Within minutes you will receive an email from IndiaPicture containing your login information.

About My Profile

When you register as an IndiaPicture member, an account is created. At any time, you may update the information contained in.

My Profile.

My Profile securely stores information required to access the web site, as well as to use Lightboxes and to license images, including:
• Personal Details (Username and Password)
• Address
• Contact Details
• Billing Information

About Credit Cards
Direct online purchasing requires a valid credit card. Your credit information is stored in your Profile so that you do not have to re-enter it. You can select a credit card that you have already entered into accounts from the pull-down menu at the time of purchase.

Changing Password
Your login is made up of your email ID and password. You can change your password at any time after logging in by completing the following steps:
1. Click Change Password.
2. Type in your old Password.
3. Next type in your new password.
4. Confirm the password by typing the new password again.
5. Click Submit.

About Image Resolution and Size

The following is a rough idea of print sizes relative to file size in megabytes. The file sizes will vary slightly from image to image depending on the source. In most cases, rights managed images can be custom scanned at larger sizes for an additional charge. Please contact your account executive for details regarding resolution, image sizes, and pricing.

Setting Usage for an Image

IndiaPicture grants you the personal, nontransferable, and nonexclusive right to copy this image, that you have selected onto your computer hard drive and to use the image and any derivative works or copies (collectively, the "Image") on one computer and with one user at a time only for a period no longer than 60 days.
You may not remove any copyright, watermarks or other notices contained in the Images and information. The Image may only be copied, modified and incorporated in materials for comprehensive layouts ("Comps"). The Comps can only be used as in-house presentations, storyboards, or rough draft designs for yourself or your clients. All other rights are reserved by India Picture.
You must contact IndiaPicture to obtain a license for any additional use. For further information, please contact us.

Our picture research team will understand your brief and create a Lightbox for your requirements, so that you can choose the final image from only relevant images, saving you considerable time and effort.
And just once in a while, you may want a second light box on a more refined search. IndiaPicture will send that too.

About My Cart

Images can be moved to My Cart from a light box or from search results.

Features of My Cart

Like most e-commerce sites, My Cart is a holding area for your purchases prior to checkout. In addition:
You may hold images in My Cart indefinitely. They will not be removed when you leave or log out of the site.
You may select which images in My Cart you want to purchase for a particular order.

About Lightboxes
Lightboxes are personal online workspaces for working with images. You must be a registered IP member to access this feature.
Key Features of Lightboxes
• With the Lightbox preview pane you can add and remove images to a Lightbox quickly, and even email your Lightbox to co-workers, without leaving search results.

How to Use Lightboxes

Registered users have Lightboxes. You must have an account and be logged in.
When you are logged in and searching, the active light box displays at the bottom of the screen.
Simply click on the ‘Lightbox ’ icon under any image to add it to your active light box.

Renaming a light box
1. Click the Lightbox link in the preview pane at the top of your search results page.
2. Click rename to rename your lightbox.

Creating a Lightbox
1.Click My Lightboxes tab. Then click Create New Lightbox. The Create New Lightbox screen will appear.
2. Type a name for the Lightbox in the Lightbox Name field.
3. Type a company name in the Company Name field.
4. Click Create.

Deleting Lightboxes
A Lightbox owner can delete a Lightbox at any time.
1. Click My Lightboxes.
2. Use the checkboxes to select the Lightboxes you wish to delete.
3. Click Delete.

E-mailing Lightboxes
You may email a Lightbox to others on your project team. Or you may email a Lightbox to a non-member by entering the recipient’s email address. Note: You cannot email both members and non-members at the same time. This will require two separate actions.

1. Select one or more team members from list

Enter in a non-member's email address in the "Email Addresses" box, separating multiple addresses with a semi-colon (;) or comma (,).
2. Enter a subject using "Subject" box.
3. Optional: Enter comments using "Comments" box.
4. Click Email Lightbox.

Searching by Image ID

Exact Match (Phrase Search)

Enclose phrases and multi-word terms (New York state) in double quotes (") to find images that match a phrase or other exact word sequence. Make sure that you use both beginning and closing quotes, and that they match. Note: Single quotes can also be used, but not in phrases with punctuation like don't and man's.

• Using search words "ice cream" will produce results that contain images of ice cream (NOT ice, NOT cream).
• Using search words "major league base*" will not produce results because wildcards cannot be used within quotes.

Search using Photographer’s Name

Type in the photographer’s name to view only his or her images.

Advanced Search Filters

These filters are found and active only when Advanced Search is viewable (set to On).
Image Attributes
• Construction - Choose whether you want a full body shot, a close-up, long shot, etc.
• Orientation - Choose to view the image either in horizontal, vertical, panorama or square.
• Image Type - Limit your search results to images that are Black & White or Color only. Available in Images search only.
• Image View -
• Releases – Choose between model or property release.

Categories

Search only among images within a topic area of interest to you:

• Search All - Images from all categories
• Creative - Fresh, compelling rights managed and royalty-free images for advertising, design, business, communications, and publishing. Includes lifestyle, business, technology, medical, sports, concepts, travel, nature, and contemporary images from

IndiaPicture photographers.

• Editorial - Images that tell stories...about current breaking news from around the world...and about iconic events and people - both past and present - from the worlds of entertainment, politics, sports, business, fashion, art, science, literature, and more.

Downloading Comps

IP allows users to download comps for planning purposes. Images may be watermarked, depending on your membership level. If you are a full member (and logged in), you can download non-watermarked Rights Managed and Royalty-Free image comps.
On a PC

1. Right-click on the enlarged image.
2. Select Save Image As.
3. Save the file in the desired location.

On a Mac

1. Control-click on the enlarged image.
2. Select Download image to disk.
3. Save the file in the desired location.

Downloading Images After Purchase

After you have purchased licenses for one or more images, it is easy for you to download your order from our web site. Note: You must be logged in to download licensed images.

1. Click My Orders and locate the desired image order.

2. Find the image that you want to download. Note: Up to 60 images can be downloaded at one time.

3. Click the Download button. The Downloading Images dialog box will appear.

4. Click on the image file(s) that you want to download.

5. Choose "Save As" and select the desired location for the saved (downloaded) image.
